Is It Possible To Download Mac Compressed Files, .dmg Etc On a Windows PC…

Is it possible to Download Mac compressed files, .dmg etc on a Windows PC and then transfer them from PC to Mac using USB Stick or external hard drive, and everything will be fine once transferred to the Mac.
If i’m making sense !

    Good question. Yes, it should work. A dmg is a regular binary file. Windows won't know what to do with it, but it should download it and store it fine. Then you can transfer to Mac and it should work.

      Thats great !!! I'm sure that actually it would be a very convenient scenario for many people, although i'm sure most havent thought about it.

      I'm assuming the reverse case scenario would also work

    I have downloaded both dmg files and other compressed files on my windows pc and then transferred them to my macbook and everything works just fine.

    Even the dmg shortcut icon produced on the windows desktop looks good
