Just wanted to let you and anyone else know that you can now cut and paste files in Lion.
The keyboard shortcut for this is: Cmd+Option+V.
Select a file. Press Cmd+C (to copy).
Choose a location where you wish to move the file to.
Press Cmd+OPTION+V to move the file to that location.

but i recall i could do this in snow leopard too ! copy pasting files
Right. You could COPY and paste. But in Lion you can CUT and paste. Or, as Lion defines it: Copy and "Move Item Here."
So you are selecting a file. Then going to a destination. Then telling the Finder you want to move the file you copied, as opposed to making a copy of the file and leaving the original behind.
