Lion OS and using “remote Desktop

Gary, I would appreciate your guidance – I upgrade my iMac to Lion OS (and I love it) however my wife also uses the mac to “work from home” which requires her to log into her work PC via remote desktop. since I upgraded the mac OS safari is crashing (something I have not ever experienced on the mac …. her IT support at work said we had to install java (which have done) but this hasn’t solved the problem. Do I have to re-install snow leopard from the original cd (can I even do this?) or have I stopped my wife working from home completely ??? HELP….

I'm not sure what you are asking about. Your title suggests a problem with remote desktop from Mac to PC. But the body of your message only mentions Safari issues.
As for Safari issues, make sure your Flash is up-to-date (re-install it to be sure). Then look in your Safari Extensions in the Safari Preferences. Update those that need updating. Turn off others that you may not really need. Turn them all off if the problem persists. It seems that a lot of problems with Safari come from Extensions that aren't working properly, not with Safari itself.

Thanks Gary - I will give it a go - the problem is with safari but only when trying to access a remote desktop session on a PC - otherwise no problems with safari. looks like the upgrade to lion messed around with how safari works / interacts with java (or maybe flash as you suggest) can I uninstall and reset the mac back to its former state in snow leopard or is that not an option?
      Thanks

You can go back to Snow Leopard, but it will be difficult. Have you simply tried Chrome or Firefox as a browser alternative? That would me much easier.

          Gary,
Thanks again for your fantasic advice - installed chrome and the remote desktop session works like a dream. Best thing is my wife can continue to work from home and I get to keep all the things I like about the new Lion OS. Your advice is a lifesaver (once again)
          Cheers
          Tim
