Mac app for taking snaps from DVDs

I just downloaded a demo of DVD Snap 2 for taking snapshots from DVDs. It does what I want to do – – individual snaps or timed, several formatting results – – but it’s a little awkward to use in some areas. Anybody have an app they really like? Thanks.

I just play the DVD is VLC or MPlayer and do a screenshot (cmd-shift-3) on a freeze frame. Dead easy. Play around with deinterlacing settings for better quality stills.

If you use VLC (videolan.org) to play your DVD then any screen capture program can take a snapshot of the video. Taking snapshots is also built in to the product, but i don't think it does the timed thing, or one after the other.

Snapz Pro X lets you record anything on the screen and you can size the capture area so you are only capture what is highlight/selected. Good for capturing portions of a dvd, but also good for when you have video that you can't seem to export using other more "traditional" methods.
