Problem with workflow for iTunes

Hey, Does anyone know what’s wrong with the foll workflow to import songs into itunes and then delete original files (Itunes is already set to make it’s copy)?

Get selected finder items
Import into itunes
move finder items to trash.

It’s giving an error in workflow…..if i remove the move to trash action, it still gives error but the files get imported twice into the library.

Thanks
JS

Creating workflows can be tricky. I'd experiment and try different things. See if you can figure out what is wrong. I'd try it myself, but being a holiday weekend...

Hey Gary....can't for the life of me figure out what's wrong...can you give it a try now when you can?

So if you try to get the selected file, then import into iTunes, then trash the file, it won't work. Because the input into the 3rd "trash" command is the result of the 2nd "import" command.
What you need to do is use Automator variables. That is tricky unless you know programming. But you can get the selected files and set a variable with them. Then get the value of the variable and import into iTunes. Then get the value of a variable and trash those files. So six steps.
Automator variables might make a good MacMost Now episode.
