Screen Recording with Sound

hi Gary i want to screen record what im doing on my mac with sound, tried to do it with quicktime but it doesnt record sound. I dont really want to do screen recording & use the sound recording at the same time and then use imovie to synch it all together and then export it. Is there an easier way to do this without really spending any money?
thanks Gary

Screen Recordings in QuickTime X do record sound. When you choose New Screen Recording, you get a small window with a round Record button in it. To the right, you get a small triangle you can click on to choose sound input. Choose a microphone and there you go.
Of course make sure the Sound Input it turned up and tested in the System Preferences.

Gary Is there a way to record the audio from the mac? in other words, if i want to record a video chat on skype to then show to another person.
    thanks

Well, for Skype, you should be able to do that using a function of Skype. Or, maybe it is an add-on and doesn't come with plain Skype? But I know it must be possible to do within Skype. Doing a screen capture of a video stream wouldn't be the best way to go about it. I've done this before with iChat.

Wow Gary. I'm so glad you answered this person's question. I had used Quicktime in the past to record a screen grab, but didn't know about the audio option.

I think it would nice if Quicktime made the option just a wee bit more obvious, but hopefully my wee brain will remember this for future use.

What downloadable software can I use to record myself in front of Isight wherein I can change my background using that software only. Thanks

Depends on what you mean by changing the background. Try Photo Booth (comes on your Mac).

I want to create a couple of instructional tutorials. I am looking for software that I can use to display myself using built-in isight camera. Similar to what you are using for your tutorials. It would be great if window was resizable. I will use Quicktime for recording screen which will include a small window showing me giving instructions. Can you help?
