Hey, I just got a thunderbolt display!! Woot!
Can I view the desktop’s standard toolbar on my external monitor? the “(Apple logo) safari file edit view history…” toolbar. Right now, I can only see it on my MacBook Pro, and its annoying to continuously glance over.

You can move the menubar to any monitor. Go to System Preferences, Displays. Click Arrangement. You'll see rectangles that represent the two screens. The menubar is at the top of one of them. Drag and drop it to the other one.
