Turning or rotating a picture in Pages

How do you rotate or turn a photo in Pages when I am trying to put it in a newsletter template? I use the various templates for a newsletter and replace the photos that are there with my photos. Some of the photos are slanted or rotated slightly and when I delete or remove the sample photo and install my photo it is always “straight”. I want to be able to rotate it or turn it slightly either to the left or to the right. How do you do this?

Thanks, I listen to the podcast all the time. I just got my first Macbook about 6 months ago and I did buy your book; I enjoy reading it and having it as a reference! Keep up the good work, Gary, Thanks!

The way to rotate an image in Pages is to first select the image. You should then see little squares in the corners and the center of each side. Hold down the Command key and drag one of those little squares to rotate the image around the opposite point.
You can also select the image, open the Inspector, go to the metrics pane (ruler icon) and set the rotation there -- this will rotate it around the center of the image.

Thank you so much for this information! I just got a MacBook and have been going crazy trying to find out how to rotate pictures in my Christmas Letter. Why doesn't Apple put this in their "Help"? Wow! 12/12/10
