Upgrading an Old Apple TV

Hi Gary,

I got the AppleTV last month. I understand that Apple announced a new version today!

Will my existing one be able to take advantage of the features mentioned in the new one? http://www.apple.com/ca/appletv/

Thank you

Apple hasn't said anything about whether the old Apple TV will get a software upgrade to allow it to have the same features as the new Apple TV. So my guess is no.
How long ago did you buy it? Apple has a policy about accepting returns if they come out with something new a short time later. I wouldn't hesitate to go back to the Apple Store or call them ASAP to see if you can return it.
Of course the existing Apple TV can do a lot of things that were talked about today. You can already rent movies, watch YouTube, etc. The only new thing mentioned that it might not be able to do is Netflix. At least that I can think of.

Thanks Gary. Plus the old Apple TV has storage capabilities which is good.

I got it as a gift in July.
