In addition to backing up to Time Machine, I also backup to a third party cloud service. I’m maxing out on my storage space, and considering not backing up my Library folder. What’s in that folder, and what would it mean if my Mac crashed and I didn’t have those files backed up? I have to assume an earthquake scenario where my Mac and Time Machine were both destroyed.

So it is better to backup your Home folder than to not back up at all. But it is better to back up everything if you can. You already are, with TM, so it might be a fine option to have your backup backup only have documents.
Got it. Thanks for taking the time. Always enjoy/appreciate your work here.

Just wanted to add my appreciation too. I always learn something from your answers.
Ditto Gary - it is part of my daily routine to read your comments - Macmost & your Twitter. Quite often "solving" issues/questions before I have reached that point
