It sounds like there is no iDisk in the iCloud. I store a lot of family photos and videos, plus important documents and other miscellaneous items on my iDisk. I’m just wondering what others plan to use (or are already using) in lieu of iDisk storage. I thought of DropBox, but it seems they only allow up to 5GB. Appreciate any suggestions

What to use in place of iDisk?

Dropbox. That's probably your best bet. You get 2GB for free. But you can upgrade to 100GB if you like.
I would use something else for photos, though, like Flickr (http://macmost.com/sharing-photos-with-flickr.html) or Picasa (http://macmost.com/sharing-photos-with-picasa.html). And maybe conside using YouTube for video too.
I have a YouTube account, but I'm not looking for sharing sites. I'm more interested in storage. I have a Time Capsule, but I'd like to have an offsite location for the more important things. I've already lost some of my daughter's baby videos due to an external HD failure. I will look into the DropBox upgrade you mentioned. I like the idea of having everything in one location. Is it possible to do Time Machine backups to multiple locations (i.e. Time Capsule & DropBox)?
You may want to look into some off-site backup solutions then. It can be a lot cheaper to get backup storage. I don't have any recommendations, but I hope to look into that soon myself. Some even offer unlimited.
You really can't do multiple TM backups. I do one TM backup, and one cloned backup (every other week or so) to an external eSATA drive.
Cloned backup? I'm not familiar with this. Can you expound?
Well, as a matter of fact:
