Which Documents Get Stored In iCloud?

I transferred some iWork documents from my Mac to my iPad. Will these be stored on iCloud, or are only the iWork documents created on the iPad get stored in iCloud?

It does not appear that iWork documents in iCloud appear on the Mac at all. If you think about it, it makes sense because:
    1. iWork apps on the Mac are different and have different features on Mac and iOS. So you can't just "have" them, they need to be converted between the types of devices and you need to see information about the changes.
    2. There is no place on the Mac where such files would appear. iOS works with the idea of a file space for each app. So Keynote documents appear inside Keynote. But Macs use a file system. So there would need to be a whole new concept of a folder or set of folders where iCloud documents suddenly appear and something would have to happen when you put files "in" those folders.
But you can access your iOS iWork documents on your Mac by going to the iCloud web interface and getting them there. And you can still transfer your Mac iWork documents to iOS using the iTunes interface as before.

However, I'm pretty sure Jobs said at WWDC that they would sync between Mac and iOS automatically.

I creates a Pages doc in my MBP and no syncing had occurred between my iOS devices. I looks like it's currently working for iOS devices though, Weird stuff going on with iCloud not working properly.
