Sounds like the headphone jack on your iPod is broken. Take it to the Apple store right away before the warranty runs out, if it hasn't already. 2. I'm not a fan of jailbreaking. I'd rather experience the iPhone in the same way as 99% of the iPhone users out there. Plus, since the app store I don't see enough of a need to jailbreak. 1.
