Ask a Forum Question

At the MacMost Forum you can ask producer and host Gary Rosenzweig questions about how to do things with your Mac, iPad, iPhone or other Apple products. Note that it is usually impossible to answer Something is wrong, how do I fix it? questions. That usually requires firsthand access to diagnose and fix the issue. So please only ask How do I do something? questions here. Visit Apple's Genius Bar for fix-it questions.

Step #1

Pick a title for your question. Should be about 6-12 words long and end in a question mark. Titles should summarize the question. Your question has a much better chance of being answered if it has a good title. Here are some examples:
Bad title: iMovie Question
Good title: How Do I Change the Volume of a Clip in iMovie?
Bad title: Just got a new iPhone!
Good title: How Do I Get New Ringtones For My iPhone?
Bad title: Problems With My iPad
Good title: Can You Lock the iPad's Screen Orientation?
Bad title: Save Photos?
Good title: How Do I Export Photos From the Mac Photos app?

Your Question Title

Step #2

Describe what it is you are trying to do. If you are having trouble, be sure to include details of what happens including any error messages. Mention details like versions and models. For example, if your question is about iMovie, which version are you using? If your question is about your Mac, are you using Yosemite or El Capitan? And which Mac model and which year? Do not use links in your question as this will flag it as spam.

Step #3

Your name will be shown in the forum post, but your email address will not.

Your Name (Required)

Step #4

PLEASE include your real email address. It will not be displayed with your question on the website. It will be used to notify you if an answer is posted. Sometimes questions are answered with just an email response. Often people give an incorrect or fake email address. This means we spend time researching and responding to a question only to have it bounce. That is very frustrating. If you are going to ask a question please use your real email address so we are not wasting our time and you are not wasting yours.

Step #6

Have you written a good title? Have you included enough detail in your question? Have you checked to make sure your email address is correct?
