An App To Test RAM

I downloaded MemTest app from blogger, Collin Allen and it said it would install in the /usr/bin folder, but I can’t find that folder nor the app. Used Spotlight and nothing came up for MemTest. Couldn’t “GO” to /usr/bin using the Finder. Where is this app? I went through an installer app. Now I wonder if the app is safe or if I just installed a malware?!?

I did a search to find out what you were talking about, and found that the site with that tool has instructions on it. It says "Memtest is a Unix command-line program that does the memory testing."
So this isn't something you run in the Finder. This is a command-line tool, which means you run it in the Terminal. That's why you couldn't get to it in Finder. You have to run the Terminal and follow the instructions. Actually, it looks like you need to restart in Safe mode too. So I'd re-read those instructions carefully. If you have never used Terminal before, you may want to stay away from this as you can do a lot of damage in Terminal if you don't know what you are doing.
I see that others have used the application "Rember" so maybe search for that instead. That seems to be a standard application that you can run in the Finder. But I've never tried it.
So, why are you trying to test your RAM? Do you suspect a problem?

I am going to increase RAM soon and a sidenote in Mac Life suggested we use MemTest to test our new RAM.

Interesting suggestion. But you don't need to do that. Unless you suspect a problem, there's no need for normal computer users to run things like MemTest.

How do I uninstall MemTest? Supposed to be at /usr/bin how do I get there via Finder? Strange it didn't install in the Utilities folder. What are the chances it's malware? It was written up by a reputable publication (Mac Life) so no worries that it's malware?

It didn't install in the Utilities folder because it is not an application that can be run from the Finder. It is a command line tool. So you have to use the Terminal to get to it.
But don't worry about it. It is a tiny little file and it is best to leave it there. There are lots of little tiny command line tools already in that location. If you are not familiar with using Terminal, then it is better to leave it alone rather than figure out how to get to it using commands.
It is not malware. It is a legitimate program.

But still need to no how we will uninstall it ? It takes time to reboot the MAC every time. So need to uninstall.

This little file is not causing your Mac to boot any slower.
