What software do you use to record the MacMost Now video podcast?
We use Wirecast to shoot the video and iMovie to edit. Many people ask about how we combine live video with screen shots, and Wirecast is how we do it. However, you can also do something similar with ScreenFlow.

You talk too fast in your videos. Can you slow down?
Nope. The way you see me (Gary) in my videos is the way I really talk. I am enthusiastic about technology and I think it shows in the videos. I do not try to slow myself down or alter how I talk in the videos. I just try to be myself. I know I can’t please everyone all the time, so no matter how I did the videos there would be a few complaints. But I know that if I tried to tone down my enthusiasm or be someone other than who I am, then there’s no way I would have made this many episodes over many years. I do provide transcripts for each video, which usually appear a few days after the video is posted.

How did you create the introduction to the MacMost Now videos?
The introduction where pictures of different Apple products fly by is simply the Cover Flow view of the Finder. Just place a collection of images in a folder and then view that folder in Cover Flow mode, as opposed to icons, list or column view. Then use any screen capture technique to capture you scrolling through the items.
