macOS System Requirements List

Can your Mac run macOS Big Sur? How about Catalina? Or Mojave? Here are the technical requirements for the most recent versions of macOS. Note that it does not matter how much memory or storage you have, or which CPU you have for the most recent versions of macOS. It only matters which model and year you have.

To check your Mac’s model and year, choose the Apple menu, About This Mac. Then look in Overview for the model and year in the line above “Processor.”
