New Online Course: Learn Mac Keynote

Mac Keynote: Creating Presentations On Your Mac is a complete Udemy course with 50 lessons including short practical examples of how to build interesting and compelling slides. It includes 3.5 hours of video tutorials from MacMost host and producer Gary Rosenzweig.

This course starts with a simple Keynote example. You will build a short presentation using a basic built-in theme. From there, you will move on to learn how to build more complex slides using elements like text, images, shapes, lines, audio and video. You’ll see how to use arrangement and alignment tools to make your own slides look great. You will also learn about transitions and animation. You’ll see how to add transitions between slides, and to build a slide one element at a time. The course also covers animation using Magic Move and other techniques.

You will then learn more advanced uses for presentations such as creating videos and making stand-alone interactive kiosks. Other advanced techniques covered include altering and making your own themes, printing, and collaborating with others.

Whether you need to use Keynote for work, school, or to create Internet content, this course can get you up to speed fast. It does not assume that you have prior experience with other presentation software. However, if you have used something like PowerPoint in the past, you can also use this course to quickly learn the ins-and-outs of Keynote. You can take as long as you need to go through the course. There is no time limit. You can go back and review videos and examples later.

I currently use Keynote and would welcome an opportunity to review the sample videos.

Doug: Go to the course (click on the "Use this link" above) and then look through the curriculum. The ones with the big "Preview" buttons are available to view before you purchase.

I live in Ireland. Will I be able to avail of this discount? Thank you.

Therese: Yes. Udemy is worldwide. Not sure of the exact price after currency conversion, but it will be about 40% off.

    Hi Gary,
After purchase, will I a. be able to insert the videos into a Keynote presentation and b. be able to download and then carry them on my mac into the barren deserts of wifilessness?

Jörg: No and no. Udemy courses are online courses and all the videos are tied to the site. They do have an iPad app that lets you watch offline, as I understand it.

I am interested in purchasing your Keynote tutorial and noticed that you also have a Numbers tutorial. Do you have a package price for both. I see the 40% for Keynote, but only 20% for Numbers.

Terry: No, I don't have a package price. I don't even know if Udemy has packages like that. But there is a coupon for the Numbers course too.
The 40% off for Keynote is for a limited time (April 22) and then I will probably offer the same 20% off for Keynote too. There was a better deal for the Numbers course when that first came out too.

I am a big fan of your work Gary. I have used Keynote for years...but I am buying the course to support your work. Keep it up. AND in the interest of full disclosure, I learned something new in a preview episode-so I have even greater motivation to buy!

An excellent course. In a short amount of time you can be well versed in all aspects of Keynote and its many great features. I appreciate the pace of the course, too often people get too wordy and long winded, not here.

I highly recommend this course if you need to learn basics or mastery!

Will I be able to re-watch any videos? How long will I have access to them? Cheers
    Brad

Brad: Yes, you can re-watch them as much as you like. Udemy causes don't have a time limit.

I am wanting to present the words to a number of songs in my presentation. What I haven't worked out is how to play the music over several slides for the song, then to start the music for the next song etc. I can play music over the whole presentation but not different music for a few slides. Does this course show me how?

Wendy: No, that's not something you can really do in Keynote. Instead, you should be doing that in video editing software like iMovie or Final Cut Pro. Make a video per song. Or, use one that already exists. Then put each video on a slide.
