We thought that instead of writing a beginners book on Yosemite, why not do what we do best and create videos! So we’ve created The Video Guide To Yosemite. We put together 20 videos with about 2 hours of instruction, and made it super-easy to get by putting it in the Mac App Store.
This is a great way for beginners to get to know Mac OS X, and for casual users to dig deeper into the features. The videos are unique, not something that can be found anywhere else. The app lets you jump easily from video to video and you can resize the window for better viewing, even going full screen.
Even if you are proficient in using OS X, you may want to consider recommending this to friends as a good way to jump in and learn more.

Want to see a sample of what the videos look like? I’ve posted the first two minutes of one of the video tutorials from the app here: VGYSample.mp4.
so the price charged will be 6.39, not 7.99, correct?
Prices are currency specific. For instance, if you are using US dollars, then the regular price is $9.99 and the current sale price is $7.99 (20% off). The app stores only display the actual current price.
I followed your link to the Mac store. The Video Guide is listed at $ 9.99, but there's no indication of the sale price. How may I purchase the Guide at the discount price. Thanks, Jeff
That sale was for last weekend. It was mentioned in the newsletter on Oct 16 and the "through the weekend" so ending on the 19th.
I did apply at the time of the sale and delayed because the price was unclear, and for your answer.
I think you should have made the purchase sale price more clear and extended it longer for mixups like I had. Jeff
Wish you offered sample video so we can view before we buy. thank U
I've posted the first two minutes of one of the videos here. Of course there are also 1000+ videos here at MacMost also done by me in a similar style. http://macmostpodcast.clevermediainc.netdna-cdn.com/VGYSample.mp4
I need the exact name of the App for Yosemite . The App Sore is only showing Tutor for OS10 Yosemite. I don't think this is your app. I love your videos, so I want to get yours.
Purchased your new video series on Yosemite. They are great as always. However, in your "Using Mail" you don't address how to use the "Group" function. Before I was able to drag a group into the TO or CC sections but now I'm unable to do that. Didn't know if you had noticed that while you did you filmed your videos. Any help or enlightenment as to how to do it with the new OS would be appreciated. Thank you.
Figured it out! Instead of having "Smart Groups" on my iMac mail, I recreated the particular group under the iCloud account of Mail and now I'm able to transfer the whole group unto the email address section. Yeah for me! Now wouldn't this be great if these same groups under the iCloud account would show up on my iPhone and iPad!!!
I am very excited to purchase the "The Video Guide To Yosemite". I am 74 and may be getting a bit thick as from your and others comments I cannot figure out how to actually purchase the Guide. Please provide a simplistic purchasing guide and how your followers in the UK can get a copy ASAP. Thanks.... David in Scotland
Just click on the link above (http://macmost.com/j-vgy). That should take you directly to the web page of the Mac App Store showing the guide, and it should also launch the Mac App Store on your Mac and take you right to it. On that screen, you'll see a button with the price shown in your local currency. Click that to purchase. After you finish the purchase, the app will download and become available to run from LaunchPad just like any other app.
Dear Gary, I purchased the Yosemite video today. I was wondering if there is a way I can import it in iTunes so I can sit on my couch and watch it through Apple T.V? Thank you so much!
No, sorry, the tutorials are built into an app, which is a totally different type of product than a pure video. Though I suppose you could simply use AirPlay to view your Mac's screen on your Apple TV and watch it like that. I created it with the idea that people would use it on their Mac and try things out as the watched.
hope some body puts it on piratebay
Stan-
Gary does an excellent job and produces informative videos every week for free. If this app is placed on piratebay, that amounts to theft and that is a very sad commentary.
Purchased the Yosemite last night. Unfortunately when I click on a subject on the list to the left it doesn't download. The preliminary video showing how to use works fine, but, again items in the list won't download
Sorry I screwed up, it's working just fine. Sorry!
