How Do I Filter Email To a Custom Email Folder?

I am trying to set up a custom folder for the many emails that come from one particular sender. How can I do that so that the emails go into the folder and aren’t included in my regular emails.

If you are using iCloud or Gmail, then you would do that on the server, not your Mac. For instance, in iCloud.com you can add rules and have those rules put any email from that sending directly into that mailbox. https://macmost.com/why-you-should-use-icloud-email-rules-and-not-mail-rules-on-your-mac.html

If you are using Gmail, then you would go to the web-based version of Gmail and use its "filters" functionality to do the same thing, filtering email from that sender by applying a label to it (they are called labels, not mailboxes in Gmail) and removing the Inbox label.
