I have a MacBook Air (retina 2018). I have a work at home opportunity but need a monitor. What should I look for…I also need a full size keyboard so need to have the correct cables. Confused. Thanks.
I will have software from LLBean for taking orders …have used before but always at a call center on Windows. Do not need for gaming or graphics

Get a screen that has either DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort input -- they pretty much all do now, but some old or cheap ones may only have HDMI. Then a standard Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort cable. Pretty common. Then just connect it.
A cheap screen will be standard resolution, so not as nice as your MacBook Air's screen. For instance it may be 1920x1080 pixels instead of 3840x2160 pixels. You fit the same things on each of those examples, but the 3840 one will show images, text and other things in much higher quality. Get one that its UHD or HiDPI or Retina in the name so you have the same "retina" quality as your MacBook's screen. They range in price depending on size.
As for a keyboard, I'm not sure what you are looking for. Why not just keep using your MacBook Air's keyboard and trackpad? Otherwise, a wired keyboard is pretty old school. A bluetooth keyboard would be better now. The best one to use with a Mac in my opinion would be one from Apple. But any one should work. Better if it has Mac keys on it though, like the Command key and FN key. You still may be missing out on some things without an Apple one.
Thank you! Need a numeric pad for taking orders. :-)
What you want to get is the Apple Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad. Logitech also makes some nice keyboards for the mac with numeric pads.
