Why does my MacBook Air automatically launch Skype to make calls from an Apple Maps listing found within either Safari or Maps? I’ve reviewed Preferences in Maps, Safari & Skype to disable this feature but don’t see any option to do so. I’m assuming it would use my nearby iPhone to complete the call as it does for other calls initiated from my MacBook.
I often look to utilize the call from within Apple Maps business feature listed for convenience but don’t want to use Skype.

You can set the default app for making "calls" in FaceTime. Launch the FaceTime app. Go to FaceTime, Preferences. Then under the Settings tab, look near the bottom for "Default for calls." Change that from Skype to FaceTime.
If you have configured your iPhone and Mac to work together to allow you to place calls, then you'll be able to use FaceTime for these calls via your iPhone.
Hi! I've been trying to figure out for months how to change this setting and I was finally able to thanks to this article, so thank you!
