What Are Libraries and How Are They Different From Folders?

Can you please make a video on libraries – difficult to understand what it really is.

What do you mean by Libraries? Do you mean like the Photos Library, iMovie Libraries and Music Library? Or, do you mean the system Library folder and your user Library folder?

If the first, think of them like folders, but you aren't supposed to be able to do anything by looking in them and working with the files directly. They are meant only for the app that created them to use.

So a folder full of files is created by you and you would go in and manage the files. A library is created by an app, like iMovie, and you aren't supposed to go into it and do anything. iMovie is supposed to be used to access the contents of the library.

Thanks a lot. So I will let the libraries live by themselves and let the apps handle them. Then I will work only with the ordinary folders.
