Hi,
My iMac’s logic board has recently been replaced. Now I notice that in iTunes my iMac wasn’t authorized any more, so I authorized it and it told me that I now have four computers authorized, which isn’t true.
The computers that I have authorized: iMac, MacBook Pro 13″, ASUS Notebook. I think the fourth authorized “computer” is in fact, my iMac’s previous logic board….
How can I de-authorize the iMac’s previous logic board….

Normally, you deauthorize a computer using the menu item in iTunes. But since this is a "new" computer -- new logic board anyway -- you can't do that.
You could just leave it alone, as it doesn't matter if that extra authorization is hanging out there. You know what caused it, so it can't do any harm.
Once you get to the maximum 5 authorizations, you get a “Deauthorize All” button in iTunes (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420).
If you really want to handle this now, your only option is to call Apple.
Thanks for your reply.
I called Apple and they told me to send an e-mail to the folks that handle questions about the iTunes Store, they told me they'd get back to me within 24 hours (but since the weekend is here... I expect an answer by Monday).
Like you say, it doesn't matter...
By the way, is it normal that with a logic board replacement my iMac doesn't show any serial number in System Profiler?
The Apple employee that fixed my computer told me that he replaced the logic board, booted the machine and everyone worked just fine. So he probably didn't notice the missing serial number.
Thanks for your help, Gary.
Cheers,
Tommy
I've never had a logic board replace, so I'm not sure. I'm sure it does have a serial number, but for some reason System Profiler isn't getting it. As long as everything works...
