Mail quits letting me send

So every once in a while I have this weird problem when Mail.app stops letting me send me. Nothing has changed in the SMTP settings. I am using a MobileMe account. The option to send is grayed out. I’ve quit and restarted mail. I’ve restarted the OS, and nothing seems to work.
Suggestions?

There are only three things that come to mind. The first is that you don't have a valid email address in the "to" field. Not to be confused with a "correct" address, I just mean it doesn't have the a@b.c format. The second is that there is no subject in the subject line. The third is that you have temporarily lost your connection to the mail server.
