It already has a 250GB drive, and you want to buy an external one -- for what? The size depends on what you want to use it for.
I want to use it for time machine sorry forgot to put that.
I recommend getting a drive that is at least twice the size. But with the cost of drives being so cheap, I wouldn't buy a drive today that is less then 1TB anyway.
