Learn good, proper way to remount external drives which have been ejected but not disconnected. You have multiple clips on YouTube, e.g. “Ejecting and Remounting External Drives (MacMost Now 853)”, but they all seem out of date.

I usually just launch Disk Utility, select the drive, and then click the Mount button.
In this case once thumb drive is ejected on Mac 2020, running 10.15.7 it is no longer visible in Disk Utility?
CTMax: Are you sure? Choose View, Show All Devices. If it isn't listed in Disk Utility at all, then there is nothing to do by physically remove it and reconnect it.
Thumb drive format MS-DOS (FAT32)
Yes, even with Show All Devices set, when I eject drive in Finder, Finder window closes as seems usual and the drive disappears from Disk Utility sidebar. Tried multiple times.
I'll keep Unplugging and replugging, which is what I have been doing and which works.
Thank You! And Thank You for what you do!
FYI; Learned if ejected in Finder disappears in both Finder and Disc Utility as noted. Once ejected in Finder if disconnected and reconnected it seems to show in Finder but not Disc Utility, unless as you suggested you toggle the view.
If you unmount in Disc Utility it does work as you suggested.
That's it for me unless you... Thanks Again!
