I am thinking of getting a Flip MinoHD because it is a lot less to carry around than my Canon ZR800, it records in 720p with no tapes, and it takes less time to start recording. Footage from my Canon lives on a NAS and is a pain to edit with iMovie on my Mac Mini because I have to move it to my local drive first. The Flip MinoHD has its own Mac osx software that integrates with Facebook and the like, but I don’t know if it works with NAS storage of raw footage. Would you recommend the Flip Mino HD and the software (i.e., does it work well with Mac OS x), and can I use their software for the Flip MinoHD and iMovie for my Canon footage?

I have a Flip Mino, but not the HD version. It works find with Snow Leopard -- at least the camera does. I didn't use the software that came with it for more than 5 minutes when I figure got the camera (back when Leopard was the newest OS). You don't really need the software for anything -- iPhoto and iMovie work better.
There are a lot of cameras out there in this category now. I would check out reviews of all of them and see which one best fits your needs.
