Forward Emails From a Specific Email Address?

I am wanting to forward some emails from my Mac to another Mac on our office network, but I want to change the “From” email address. So I need to make a Rule, so that when I forward emails to bills.myob.com, etc., it will automatically send forward the email from a specific email address. Is this possible?

So it is easy to set the From field to any account you have. But I sense you already know this. So is the part you want a way to have the From field change automatically, so that you don't accidentally forget?

I can't think of any trigger/rule system that would work that way. At least not in the Mail app. You never say which email service you are using, but Gmail has a pretty complex feature set and it may be possible to set something up through a Gmail filter or extension. But you'd have to investigate that.

I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish with this (so often the WHY is important in helping to solve a problem), but perhaps the solution is at the other end. For instance, if the receiver is triggering some action based on the "from" email address, it may be easy for them to also do the same from another email address too.

MYOB have a service where you can forward supplier invoices to their in tray so that they can be attached to your Purchase Order so that we don't have to keep the paper copy. But the invoices from suppliers come into a different email address to the one that MYOB have, and MYOB will only accept emails from the email address that they have on file.

Ruth: I still don't know which email service you are using. But if you can, why not have those invoices automatically forward to your email address that MYOB has for you? Then it takes care of the problem on that end?
