How Do I Batch Reduce the Size Of JPEG Photos?

I have loads of photos that I want to email to friends but I want to batch reduce the size so that I can easily email them. I can individually reduce the sizes with preview but this would take forever. Any help would be appreciated.

First, I would consider another way to "send" them to friends. Email is not the best way to send large files or groups of large files. Why not use an online photo gallery? You can do that do that with iCloud. https://macmost.com/creating-quick-online-photo-galleries.html

You can also use lots of other systems: Google Photos, Facebook, Flickr, and so on. Tons of options. The big advantage is that you are just sending a link, not a ton of data. Even if you get the file sizes down to what you want, the people on the other end may still not like receiving huge email messages. Maybe some are even looking on mobile devices and have limited bandwidth.

If you want to go that route, you could just export from the Photos app (I assume that's where you have these) by selecting the ones you want and then setting the options when you export them all at once. If you have them as files, not in the Photos app, you can create something in Automator to reduce the image sizes. Something like this: https://macmost.com/using-automator-to-resize-images.html Or, just about any image editor app would have a batch resizing function.
