How Do I Change a Field Name In a Contact Group for All Contacts In the Group?

I imported a membership contact list into contacts. However, ‘membership #’ is not a field. I imported it to a standard field like ‘parent name’….but now I want to change ‘parent name’ for all the contacts in the group to ‘membership #’.

I can do this one at a time, but it would be very time consuming.

Is there a way to do this for all contacts in this group.

Thanks in advance, Matt

There's no bulk function for changing that. If you really want to do it in Contacts, maybe re-import the names but assign the membership number to the Notes field instead as a line like:
    Membership: ##

Sounds like what you really want is a database. Contacts is an app meant to be more of a personal address book. If you are in charge of a group and need to store membership information, perhaps doing it as a Numbers spreadsheet makes more sense. Or, if the list is very long, use professional contact management software (online, perhaps).
