How Do I Completely Block or Stop Receiving Constant Sequoia Update Notices?

Is it possible to completely stop Sequoia update notices?
I would like only to update if “I” want to when I want to, without constant reminders that an update is available.
An answer would be greatly appreciated!

You can't turn off the notifications that a new update is available. New updates often contain critical security updates that you shouldn't ignore. Sometimes bug fixes too that are important.
I would highly recommend that instead of trying to find a way to turn off notifications, that you simply let your Mac update when an update is available. It is easy to tell it to do it "tonight" so it doesn't interrupt your work.

I too would love to be able to block this "big brother" approach of Apple's. Surely it's up to me with 44 years of experience of Apple products as a developer to decide when and where I update? The "contains critical security updates" nonsense that is bandied about is just that, nonsense. Despite Apple's moves, this is MY computer and I would like them to please stop forcing stuff on me.

Sean: Security updates is a strange place to decide to not trust Apple. If you don't trust Apple, then using their hardware and their operating system is not a good idea. But to trust the hardware and operating system but say "no" to security updates doesn't make any sense.
