I keep up to date with all my podcasts, deleting viewed ones as I go along. However the amount of storage being used by podcasts on my iPad is extremely large at 1.3 Gb. Why is this and how do I control it?
Thanks,
Peter Hardaker
Podcasts is taking up a disproportionate amount of storage on my iPad. It’s due to “documents and data”. I need to free up the space.

Go to Settings, General, iPad Storage. Find the Podcasts app in the list. Then you'll see a list ion all podcast episodes and exactly how much space each one takes up. You can swipe to the left to delete any you wish. There will be some Documents and Data storage used for things like caching show graphics and such even if you have cleaned out everything.
Hi Gary and thank you for your speedy response. I've done as you say but I don't have any podcasts episodes in there. I do have some Documents & Data in there amounting to 1.29 GB. This seems excessively large considering the circumstances I've described. Am I missing another setting somewhere? Thanks again for taking the trouble to respond to me, much appreciated.

Peter: If you have no podcasts, then you shouldn't have much in there. I'd contact Apple Support about it.
Thanks again Gary.
That’s what I thought i.e. there shouldn’t be much in there.
I’ll contact Apple Support as you say and if I get an answer that could be helpful to others I’ll let you know.
Cheers,
Peter
