How Do I Export From Photos?

I use Photos App on MacBook Pro to edit, tag, metadata.
I have my own albums.
If I exported these photos as an album to my desktop will edits data remain in tact.
What is the need for having to keep photos in photos folder?
Thanks

If you export, you are saving out plain JPEG files. Any data you add in Photos isn't going to be there. Metadata that came with the original photo, applied by the camera, should be included with the new JPEG file.

When you export, you can choose a regular export or Export Unmodified Original. If you made any edits, like cropping or color adjustments, then those would be included with a regular export. In fact, they would be "baked in" to the JPEG file. You wouldn't be able to revert to the original version from that file like you can in Photos. If you use the Unmodified Original option, then you get the exact file that came from the camera, so no edits would be included.

Not sure what you mean by "having to keep photos in photos folder."

What is the answer to a modification of this question such as: How Do I Export an Album from Photos and Keep The Pictures in Proper Order? Say 40 or 50 pictures? I would really like a good answer to this question.

Maury: 40 pictures isn't much. Just try it and experiment. If you go to export, you'll see the file naming options. One is "sequential" and there are others that you can try too. Try the options and see what gets you what you want.
