How Do I Make My MacBook Air To Mount an External 1TB WD Hard Drive?

This 1 TB WD drive is my manual backup of Time Machine. I did a backup to this drive on May 12, 2017. Now When I plug this USB 1TB drive, it is not mounting!!. This 1TB external USB disk has 2 partition. one for manual backup the second one with other data. My MacBook air is having problem mounting after OS X 10.12.5 update.

What shows in the Disk Utility app? Do you see the drive on the left? Do you see the two volumes? If so, if you select one can you use the Mount button in Disk Utility to mount it?
FYI -- it is a bad idea to use a drive both for backup and for other data. That means if that drive fails, that other data is gone. Drives are cheap, have one dedicated to Time Machine only and use it daily. Store other things on a separate drive and back that up too.
