How Do I Move Photos From 1 Photo Library To an Other?

I have 2 photo libraries on my Mac. One personal, the other one is professional. Originally I only had one where I was mixing pro and perso. But now, I have created a new library for pro photos and I would like to transfer the pro photos from my main library (perso) to the new library (pro). I have done it with iMovie’s library easily but have not found how to do it with Photo.

The only way to do it without trying some third-party solution is to export all of the photos from one library. Save them to a folder. Then import them into the other library. Unfortunately, you won't get some metadata with the photos, like tagging and things you set up in the other library. You'll also lose any edits -- or the edits will become permanent if you choose to export the photos instead of exporting originals. So definitely keep the old library around on an archive drive or somewhere in case you need something later on.

Thank you very much Gary, I was afraid this was going to be the only solution. Greetings from France!

Could you not just create a copy of the original file then rename the two files pro and perso. You could the just delete the unwanted photos in each file. All meta data etc would still be there. Messy I know but at least no loss of info.
