How Do I Move Photos From SD Card To USB Stick?

Will be touring in Alaska. At the end of the day I’d like to back up my SD memory card to a Visiontek USB 3.0 solid state stick. Do you recommend any adaptor/connector that would receive both the SD and USB and facilitate the backup to the USB Visiontek stick? (I’ve had bad experiences with ship wi-fi reliability/availability so don’t want to go the cloud route—I guess?) Thanks.

So you are looking for a stand-alone device? Or will you have your Mac with you? If you have your Mac, and it doesn't have an SD card slot (some MacBooks do), then just get a USB SD card reader. They are relatively cheap. Get one that is USB3 even if you don't have USB3 on your MacBook. That way it will work much faster in the future when you do have a USB3 MacBook. Then transfer them directly from one to the other using the card reader in one USB slot and the thumb drive in another. Drag and drop in the Finder.
Now if you don't have a Mac available, then you'll need to look for a special device that does this. I think they exist, but I have never used one, so I can't be of much help there.
