Is there a simple way to open a .kit file?
I have a file that was saved 4/2016 and it is labeled as .kit. I can’t open it and info I find on the web is for kitchen designs or so complicated I don’t want to take the time to learn it.
This file has graphics of the patterns used to knit an Albanian Sock and I’d rather not have to redo the charts/patterns. My choice is to use Excel for the charts/patterns.

So you are sure this is a file with knitting patterns? If so, perhaps the person who created it just manually set the filename to ".kit" even though it doesn't map to an actual app that I can see.
If you know the source of the file, I would ask them about it. It could be a spreadsheet file, like Excel. Have you tried to open it in Excel?
I tried Excel to no avail. I tried to open it with various .s and .html gave me a long list that I don't understand.
Adobe reader didn't recognize it.
I'm sure I am the one that saved the file but wouldn't have had the know how to add .kit I believe it is from 2015 (before this current computer).
Unless you have a magic wand :) I'm going to forge on and recreate the files :(

Did you try simply changing the name of the file by removing the .kit and replacing it with .xls -- assuming you think it may be an Excel file? Or, if you think it may be a text document, changing it to .txt? Try opening it in TextEdit then and see if there are any clues as to what it could be. For instance, a comma-separated spreadsheet file or a tab-separated one would be useable.
This is a part of what opened with .xls Seems to be a .html that is out of date. I tried to send the whole file but I got a message (from your site) that I needed to write a message.

I’ve got bad news for you. That file is empty. It just has some header information there, but no contents.
