I have flash drives (and other removable drives) where the files are not in alphabetical order. I can Sort them in order using the View options but then the next time I insert this same drive they are mixed up again. What am I doing wrong? Is there no way to keep them alphabetical?
Using the latest OS (though this has been the situation for many years/OS’s).

What is the format of these flash drives? I suspect the issue may be that you have them formatted as non-Mac drives. In that case, your Finder sorting preferences aren't being saved to them. Just a guess.
