How Do I Portion My HD To APFS So I Can Install Catalina?

I want to Install Catalina. I have Mojave at present.
I have downloaded Catalina, but when asked which disk to Install MacOS Catalina I am told my HD is not formatted for APFS.
Can you please tell me how to format my HD for APFS?

That's going to be tough. When you upgraded to Mojave, you should have had the option to reformat as APFS. But I think you did have the option to stay at HFS and you chose that and now the Catalina installer won't do it for you.

You can definitely do it by backing up all of the stuff (twice, I recommend) and then going into Internet recovery mode, wiping the drive, and installing Catalina. Then restoring your data from the backup.

It will take a lot of time and effort though. I'm not sure of your skill level and whether you want to read up on it and do it all yourself, or have an expert take care of it for you.

Thanks, I have organised an expert to do the above for me next week.

    Thank You
