How Do I Remove Password Lock From PDF File?

What is the best way to convert a locked PDF file that I received (I was given the password) to an unlocked version?

So I don’t have to save this password to view the file in the future.

Use File, Print. Then click the PDF button and save it as a PDF.

When I try that, "Save as PDF" is greyed out.

When I try to edit permissions for the document, I get the message to enter the owner password which I don't have.

Ben: Sounds like maybe the PDF has restricted printing permissions too then. May not be anything you can do unless you can get the creator of the document to send you an unprotected version. After all, those protections wouldn't be worth much if you could get around them easily.

I seem to have found a work around. If I export the file as a new PDF, then in the options dialog, change Permissions and enter a new password, then click Export, I seem to get a new PDF that opens without needing a password.
