How Do I Report Map App Errors To Help Improve the App?

I love Apple products and I applaud their efforts at creating an alternative contender to compete with the dominate mapping application, Google Maps. Unfortunately, as with all new programs, their will be bugs that have to be worked out. I’ve read countless blogs and posts indicating anything from “slight problems” to “total disasters”. Unlike many, I truly want to see Apple succeed in the mapping industry, which leads me to my question. How do I report Maps problems or errors to Apple?
Thanks Gary!

I agree with you. This is the very first version of Apple Maps and people are comparing it to Google Maps which 1) is 7 years old and has been through many versions and changes and 2) still has errors in it as Apple Maps does.
It is possible to report errors to Apple from within the Maps app. Tap on any location to get the little pop-up information and the blue arrow button to tap for more. At the bottom of the information page about any location, you can see buttons like Add to Contacts, Share Location, etc. The last one is "Report a Problem." You can then choose "Information is incorrect," "Place does not exist" and "My problem isn't listed." The latter lets you type in an explanation.
Now if the problem isn't about a place, but a road or something else, just tap and hold in a location to "drop a pin" and then tap the blue arrow button to get to "Report a Problem."

Google acknowledges such reports and lets you know if they agree and have changed the map. Apple does neither. It's like a black hole. App developers could help too but MKMapView doesn't have the option to report a problem.

Google does? I've submitted many reports to Google over the years and have never heard back. And whether or not Apple does get back to you -- it is a little early to tell. The new Maps app has only existed for the public for 5 days now.

There's a checkbox for 'Email me when the problem is resolved' when reporting a problem with a Google map. You get back something like 'Thanks again for sharing your local expertise with other Google users! Based on your edit, we've updated ....'. The Apple maps have been available to developers since the WWDC. Even their bug reporting doesn't have a category for maps.
