How Do I Safety Uninstall Adobe Flash Player?

How do I uninstall Adobe Flash Player? I keep getting pop-up messages to do this, and I don’t trust anything online anymore. Thanks.

I don’t think I need or want Adobe Flash Player for older things. I don’t play games.

My Firefox browser is running so slow and I’m wondering if it has to do with this recurring Adobe Flash pop-up.

    Adobe has instructions here: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html

This will not speed up your browser. But it will disable Flash, which has been removed from most websites at this point anyway.

I followed the link to the section for removing Flash for the Mac. However it only gives instructions up to and including OS 10.7. What about later versions such as Big Sur (11.1) Or has support for Flash already been disabled in that?

    Thanks

Graham: It is just that the instructions just haven't changed since 10.7.

Lalitha: It won't launch "randomly" but perhaps you are doing something you don't notice? Maybe tapping one of the buttons in the TouchBar or F-keys that controls audio? Or maybe connecting your iPhone? Or maybe you have a bluetooth device connected? Figuring out what you are doing that triggers this by experimenting is the first step.
