How Do I Send Text Messages With an iPad?

Hi Gary
Can you tell me when can we text android text messages with the iPad or if this will ever happen. I know I can with my iMac computer. Thanks

    You can do that already. But keep in mind that if you want to send regular text messages (SMS) then you need to do so through a mobile phone provider. The way this is done on a Mac or iPad is to sent (and receive) through your iPhone's mobile provider. So you need to turn on Settings, Messages, Text Message Forwarding on your iPhone. Then you can use iCloud to forward messages to and from your other devices through your iPhone. Naturally, you need to have an iPhone to do this. And your iPhone and other devices need to be using the same Apple ID.

    I looked in settings and can not find message forwarding anywhere

    Gary: Are you signed into iCloud? Is Messages enabled in iCloud settings? Do you have at least one other devices using the same Apple ID, iCloud on, iCloud Messages enabled, and Messages set up with the same Apple ID?
