How Do I Sort a Shopping List In Notes?

Hi, Does anyone know if you can sort a shopping list in Notes? I checked the ‘automatically sort ticked items’, and that’s doesn’t work?

Reason: because it’s easier to find items when they’re sort in alphabetical order.

There is no function in Notes to sort a checklist. If you read the description of the "Automatically sort checked items" option, you'll see that it just puts checked items at the bottom of the list. It has nothing to do with sorting alphabetically.

If you want to do that, you'll need another app. I use the Reminders app for a shopping list. You can sort alphabetically there. To me it makes more sense to use Reminders for a straight-forward list like a shopping list. Notes is better when you need to mix data, like a paragraph of text, then a checklist, then a sketch, etc.

Gary, I love all your videos but disagree about Notes vs. Reminders functionality ... to me it make more sense to keep *all* "notes" together and not have to remember/distinguish a "note" from a "reminder." For my purposes, I don't use Reminders for anything. Therefore I fail to understand Apple's logic in NOT providing a simple sort capability in Notes. Suggestion: any overview of the Notes app ought to clearly explain that checklist can "sorted" ... but nothing else. It's a limitation.
