iMac 21.5″ Late 2012; OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.5; Adobe Flash Player 22.00.192
When I try to choose an app to open an mp4 video, the choices I am given don’t include Adobe Flash Player, which is what I need. When I search for an app of that name, I don’t find it anywhere.
Background: When I tried earlier to open a video I accidentally clicked on one of the choices given in the menu, and now I can’t undo that choice.

What do you mean by "the choices I am given?" Where, exactly, did you see that? Was it in Safari? Somewhere else? It sounds like you were clicking on a file, maybe? You wouldn't use the Flash Player (a browser plugin) to play an mp4 video file.
Typically, you don't get a choice like that if you are viewing regular video on a web page. But perhaps a specific site you were on gave you that choice. Is this on a specific site?
I was wrong in how I asked my question; nevertheless, your answer pointed me in the right direction to solve my problem! Thanks.
For the sake of others who will find this page, what did you do that solved your problem?
