How Do I Stop Photos App From Auto Opening?

Since the Photos application replaced iPhoto I have the considerable annoyance of it over-riding my Photoshop Bridge preferences to launch Adobe Photo Downloader automatically when a camera or card is connected. I am running El Capitan.

I don’t use Photos and its preferences make no mention of its downloader so how I can I stop this aggravation of having to close Photos downloader and open Bridge?

Connect your camera or card and let Photos launch. Then look carefully at the top of the Photos window. There will be a checkbox with the text "Open Photos for this device."
Uncheck that and Photos will no longer launch when you connect that device.
