I am trying to update my 2009 Mac Book pro. I cannot use Zoom, Submit work to my online learning pLatform Blackboard, add a newer printer… And it runs slow when loading web pages.
The version I currently have is 10.6.8. How would I go about in getting these to work?
It is still in good shape and only use it for school/work purposes. I work in the education field and could use it for Google Classroom and Zoom calls. I don’t want to buy a new laptop and I have to return my work laptop that I have been using.

OS X version 10.6.8 is very very old. If you go to https://macmost.com/macos-system-requirements-list.html you'll see that you can probably go to 10.11 or 10.12 depending on which model you have. There are links there to download the upgrades for either one of those.
Now whether you can use those to run the Zoom app or that learning platform, I don't know. You'd have to check with them. But either way you'll get a lot more features that with that very old version of OS X.
For Blackboard compatibiltiy you need to think about web browser compatibility.

Web browser compatibility is then related to operating system compatibility. You will probably need to use the latest version of either Google Chrome (requires at least OS X 10.11) or Mozilla Firefox (requires at least macOS 10.12) because your computer may be to old for a supported version of Safari.
