How Do Reset Self Created Passwords Using Keychain Created Passwords?

Thanks for the Great security presentation. Is 1Password necessary if one uses Keychain? How should we start using Keychain and Mac suggested “new” passwords after we have already created ones own password? I notice the my Iphone “Password” area has suggested several changes be made and I am ready to go all in on key chain’s created Passwords.

You can just use Safari (Keychain) passwords if you like. Most people do. Or, you can use a third-party password manager like 1Password. Or you can use both. It is up to you.

If you already have accounts with passwords, then you would just go to whatever page at that site is for changing your password. Then use a Safari suggested password for the new one. How to do that would vary by site.

I have received notice that several databases where I have used and left my passwords have had data breaches and that I should change those passwords that have been compromised. Can Keychain or 1Password execute a mass change of hundreds of old passwords for new passwords, or do i need the change them one at a time? Andrew

Andrew: You need to change them one at a time. No password manager can do it for you. Each site and service is different on how they do it.
