Is there a way to make a network drive connection persistent? Each time I restart my Mac Mini it loses the connection to the network drive (WD My Cloud) and must use The Finder ‘connect to server’ to navigate the contents.
To alleviate having to connect to an external network drive every time I restart my Mac Mini.

Go to the computer level with Go, Computer in the Finder and you should see the drive listed. Drag that to your Favorites in the left sidebar of the Finder.
Now that it is there, the whole process should be easier. When you are disconnected after a restart or for some other reason, just click the sidebar item. It may take a few seconds, but it will reconnect without you needing to go through all of the steps of connecting to the server.
Hello Gary. Thank you for your reply. I followed the instructions you provided but when I reboot my Mac Mini and click on the Documents folder I created in the Sidebar (which is to my network drive) I received a message of "Documents" can't be opened because the original item can't be found. This solution did not work for me.
Tracy: Try creating a sidebar item to the drive (top level) and see if that works better.
